Greenleaf and Heliker notes for Allan Nevins, 1950-1952.

The records are primarily comprised of research notes collected for Allan Nevins' first volume on the history of Ford Motor Company: Ford, The Times, The Man, The Company. Roughly processed, the papers are arranged into two series. The first, Heliker Notes series, 1950-1952, (0.4 cubic ft.), holds typewritten notes from newspaper articles and other print sources relating to the history of Dearborn and Detroit, Michigan, especially in regards to the automotive industry; notes about engines; and articles and notes about Henry Ford. The second series, Greenleaf Notes series, 1950-1952 (7.2 cubic ft.) is mostly unprocessed, unarranged research material. Included are notes and gathered material on the Selden patent case (Greenleaf later published a book on the case); a first draft of Volume II, Ford: Expansion and Challenge; galley proofs for Volume I and Volume II; and unsorted miscellaneous notes.
